About My Chinese Medicine Practice
I’m a dedicated practitioner and teacher of holistic medicine and have been involved in this practice since 2008. I love empowering patients to understand their bodies and discover the gentle power of the healing arts. As an Acupuncture Therapist, I enjoy being able to bridge the gap between western medicine and the complimentary natural modalities while providing a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which to heal.
I have been awarded a Masters of Applied Science in Acupuncture from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from Monash University.
After completing a degree in Physiology I pursued studies in internal martial arts, And have receive a fifth degree black belt in Aikido.
Within the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine I studied many different modalities of treatment including acupuncture, Traditional Chinese massage (also known as tuina), cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, exercise therapy and nutrition.
I also spent a month in China as an intern in the neurology department of a TCM hospital.
Through my ongoing training in internal martial arts and practice in Traditional Chinese medicine these combined interests have led me to study the field of esoteric acupuncture.
I love a holistic, natural approach to health yet also believe in the importance of integrated medicine. I happily work alongside other health and medically trained professionals and can help translate medical jargon for the lay person.
Consultations with me involve an in depth look at the issue at hand as well as general lifestyle diet and posture. Treatment plans are discussed and involve a combination of acupuncture, cupping, remedial massage, nutritional recommendations and lifestyle changes.
I am a fully Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner with AHPRA with a specialty in Acupuncture and member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society.
I am covered by all major health funds and patients are eligible for private insurance rebates on consultations.
